LEAGUE RULES & INFO

We are finally bringing this league into the 21st century with a website. Not to worry, I will still post the weekly standings and handicaps on the fence post for those of you who don’t use a  computer or smart phone.

Some basic league rules to remember:

  • Drop your score card off in the box in the clubhouse. It helps if you put your match score on it too.
  • If your opponent doesn’t show or can’t make it then you play against your handicap. If you beat your handicap you get 7 points. If not, you get 5 points. If you are playing against your handicap you must play on Wednesday with someone else or another 2 or 3 some in the league. If you play by yourself and shoot your career low score expect your opponent to call bullshit. Don’t do it.
  • If you can’t play on Wednesday you can attempt to schedule another time to play with your opponent as long as it is BEFORE Wednesday.  Playing a match AFTER Wednesday will not be allowed and both players will take a zero.
  • NO MATCHING OF CARDS! You must either play your opponent at that same time or play against your handicap.
  • Handicaps will be updated every 2 weeks.
  • Top 3 teams in each 7 week session win club house credit. $65 – 1st.  $35 – 2nd. $20 – 3rd.
  • RAIN OUT POLICY – The course will be notified no later than 2:00 if the round is cancelled due to weather. The website will also be updated if the round is cancelled. Its up to you to either check the website or call the course if you are not sure. If you play early and finish before the round is cancelled your score WILL count for that week.
  • INCOMPLETE ROUNDS – if you are unable to finish your round due to weather, you can attempt to finish the round before the following the week. If you are unable to finish, then the remaining holes are halved and calculate your match score accordingly. Unfinished rounds will not count towards your handicap.
  • TEE SHOTS OUT OF BOUNDS OR LOST – if you lose your ball off the tee shot you have the option of hitting another tee shot as your 3rd shot or taking a drop of 2 club lengths into the fairway (but no closer to the hole) from where your ball went out of bounds hitting your 4th shot.
  • PREFERRED LIES IN FAIRWAYS ONLY. – if your ball is the fairway and in a divot or is just a really bad lie you can move it backwards to a preferred lie. This is only in the fairway.
